Played by a virtuoso, an evening of clarinet music is coming to the Flavel.

Michael Collins’ dazzling virtuosity and sensitive musicianship have earned him recognition as one of today’s most distinguished artists and a leading exponent of the clarinet. With a distinguished career as a soloist, he is also highly regarded as a conductor and is Principal Conductor of the City of London Sinfonia.

With Michael Collins, will be pianist Michael McHale who has developed an international career as a solo recitalist, concert pianist and chamber musician.

The programme will include: Sonata for Clarinet and Piano, Opus 129 by Charles Villiers Stanford; Clarinet Sonata No 1 in F minor, Op. 120 by Johannes Brahms; Introduction and Allegro appassionato, Opus 256 by Carl Reinecke; Sonata in E-flat major, Opus 167 by Camille Saint-Saëns and Sonata for Clarinet and Piano by Francis Poulenc.

The concert begins at 7.30pm on Friday, October 27 and tickets are £20, and £5 if under 18.
