FASHION conscious youngsters have helped raise over £700 for Red Nose Day.

Dartmouth Academy's Year 6 pupils organised the catwalk show as they invited children acres Years 3 to 6 to dress up and strut their stuff.

The school's Comic Relief efforts organised by the Year 6 team also included an Art Attack competition in which pupils were challenged to paint a humorous picture of a friend and a design a red nose competition.

On Red Nose Day, many of the pupils and staff turned up in fancy dress while everyone wore something red to mark the charity drive.

Academy vice principal Rik Meek was full of praise for the Year 6 youngsters. He said: 'We know that this year group has a great deal of talent and determination to do well, and their fantastic organisation on all these events has shown exactly that.

'We have raised an amazing £717.11 for Comic Relief. We are all very proud of how well the children have done to raise funds for a great cause.'
