Town councillors elected councillor Rob Lyon to be the next mayor of Dartmouth at the meeting held on Monday evening, March 5. This will be Cllr Lyons fourth term as mayor. He was last re-elected in 2016.

Cllr Lyon received 7 votes out of the 13 cast. Other candidates that stood for election were Cllr Paul Allen 2 votes; Cllr Richard Cooke 2 votes; Cllr Anthony Fyson 1 vote and there was one spoiled ballot.

A new deputy mayor was also elected, Cllr Fred Pritchard-Tagg, who received 5 votes. No other candidate received more than 2 votes. Cllr Richard Cooke and Cllr Anthony Fyson will continue to serve as mayor and deputy mayor until the mayor making ceremony in May.
