FRANK GOODERSON of Coombe Close, Dartmouth, writes: I have decided to come out of the woodwork just once more because I wanted to give thanks to the management and staff at the residential home of Beacon Court. You hear so many stories today of the neglect and bad practices that go on in care homes. I lost my lovely wife on Monday, September 1. She was a resident at Beacon Court for more than two years, where I visited her every day, and in all that time I never had cause for concern or her welfare. Pat was loved by all the staff and for that I am truly grateful. I could come and go as I pleased and was always given tea and cake. Pat had a lovely room on the top floor and nothing was too much trouble, and when the children visited they were always made welcome. So keep up the wonderful work you do Beacon Court. I will sing your praises to all. God Bless and thank you girls for coming to Pat's send-off at St Saviour's Church. There is so much that we the elderly should be grateful for in Dartmouth. We take so much for granted these days: there are a lot of people who put themselves out to help us and the pace of life is so fast that we are too busy to take time to say thank you.
