Stimson begins to rebuild his new-look squad
Thursday, 17 June 2010
MARK STIMSON has begun rebuilding his Barnet squad as three new players have joined the Underhill club in the past week.
The former Gillingham boss, who was appointed by the Bees three weeks ago, has signed striker Ricky Holmes from Blue Square south outfit Chelmsford City.
The livewire England C international, who scored 21 times for the Essex club in 54 appearances last, was twice voted Chelmsford’s player of the year and left his former club to pursue a full-time football career.
“I am sure the supporters will enjoy his attacking flair,” Stimson told the official club website. “I look forward to working with him on the training ground to help him become a League player, I am delighted to get his signature.”
Also joining the Bees’ ranks is attacking midfielder Glen Southam, formerly of Dagenham and Redbridge and also an England C international.
Southam signed for the Daggers after a highly successful time with Bishops Stortford, and had recently been playing at Blue Square premier outfit Histon.
Glenn Poole is another new arrival, a left sided player who has featured for Yeovil Town, Thurrock, Grays Athletic and Brentford.
Stimson added: “I worked with Glenn [Poole] at Grays. He has a fantastic delivery from set-pieces – his experience will be a big help to the squad I am putting together.”
