UPDATE: Henri Lloyd shop burgled in Salcombe

By Chris Derrick in Crime

POLICE are appealing for witnesses after the top-of-the-range Henri Lloyd clothes shop in Salcombe was burgled in the early hours of Thursday morning.

At 3.15am, at least two white men were seen to have used hammers to smash the glass-fronted door to the shop in Fore Street and stole what was described as ‘lots of stock’ before driving away in a vehicle believed to be a dark blue Ford Ka.

The shop plans to stay closed today, but is expected to reopen tomorrow.

It is understood that the raiders deliberately targeted clothes as the till remained untouched.

Police would like to hear from anybody who saw anything suspicious or has been offered any items of Henri Lloyd clothing for sale.

Anyone with any information is asked to contact the police by calling 101, quoting crime reference number CR/090593/16.

Alternatively information can be given anonymously via Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 or by using their online form found at http://crimestoppers-uk.org.
